March 2026 News for the Smartphone Filmmaking Community and all our listeners:
SBP is not gone but we have paused our podcasting temporarily. A message from host Susy Botello: The podcast has been a continuing work on my part to share the voice of mobile filmmakers who inspire each other to continue to make independent films using smartphone cameras. I've put a lot of personal time and work into this podcast and, as a real human being, have had to pause it in order to focus on certain things in my life that have taken a priority.
I have tons of respect for our listeners and subscribers, wherever you listen to the show. It's been tough during the economic times to continue to fund it out of my own pocket. The time and work it takes to administrate, produce and distribute the show is a reflection of the care I put into every single episode from scheduling guests, to recording, artwork, editing and distribution. It's been a work of love for this niche industry and the show tells the story of mobile film from its beginning through today. It's given a voice to many filmmakers and smartphone enthusiasts. Most importantly, it's inspired many to make movies with smartphone cameras that inspire the art of storytelling around the world, through film.
If you'd like to support me to help me fund the work and time to keep it going, you can do so on Patreon.
Fade In To Film (FITF) Our first episode was published July 18, 2023 with several recurring panelists.
Moving forward, FITF is re-establishing itself as a topics based discussion between host Susy Botello and featured guests. We continue our quest to bridge the gap between indie filmmakers and smartphone/mobile filmmakers on a positive light. The new edition of FITF began January 4, 2025 with episode 211.
S. Botello Productions™ has a publication called Smartphone Filmmaking on Medium.com in which we share articles for SBP and our podcast.
