Ten years old making movies and winning awards, inspired by her award winning filmmaker Dad Ryan McDonald, Sophia McDonald writes, directs and stars in her short film The Sister Sister Jinx shot with an iPhone.
Episode 147 is Sophia’s podcast debut. The film is roughly 2 and half minutes long and was a family project with the participation of Dad, sister Alyssa as her co-star. There is even an appearance by Leo the Cat.
Ryan and Sophia share how they made this film and how the film helped them bond. Sophia wrote the screenplay, and directed the film. The film was edited using Final Cut Pro, where Sophia had the final editing decisions.
Ryan and Brandie McDonald made a feature film, Married and Loving It which was in our film festival in 2020. You can listen to them in episode 131.
This is a very unique episode, I don’t usually bring kids this young into our podcast. The discussion is very inspiring and will probably have you smiling.
