Our guest in episode 142 is Luis Fernandez who is an actor, filmmaker and live performer. His feature film, Desconocidas (Unknowns) is screening during San Diego’s International Mobile Film Festival in its 12th edition April 28-30.
Luis shares the story behind a filmmaking experience which is pretty mind-blowing. Filming during the pandemic was already challenging, but when each actor was in another country, and so were the live viewers of the final performance, that’s really quite a feat! Luis Fernandez, Mimi Lazo and Nina Rancel, will be in San Diego to present their film with a Q & A session.
Topics we discuss:
Filming in multiple apartments as though they are one
Directing remotely
The story of immigration in the film
Bringing their audience to the “theater” online
Luis Fernandez’ childhood dream to be an actor
